THE CHALLENGE
Employees are increasingly using AI tools to save time, generate content, summarize information, and support daily tasks. However, many employees may not fully understand the risks of entering confidential information, relying on inaccurate outputs, using AI-generated content without review, or allowing AI to influence sensitive decisions.
The challenge was to create a short, practical learning experience that helps employees make responsible choices when using AI in the workplace.
The goal wasn’t to discourage AI use — it was to help learners use AI with awareness, judgment, and accountability.
THE SOLUTION
I designed a scenario-based microlearning module that introduces responsible AI use through clear guidelines, visual reinforcement, and workplace decision-making practice.
Learners review key AI safety rules, then apply them through realistic scenarios involving client information, AI-generated reports, marketing content, and hiring decisions.
Protect confidential information
Verify AI-generated content
Follow company policy
1
Maintain human accountability
Use AI as a support tool, not a decision maker
ANALYSIS
Identified a growing workplace need: employees are using AI tools more frequently but may not understand the risks related to privacy, accuracy, copyright, bias, and decision-making.
The learning need was not simply awareness. Employees needed practice recognizing risky AI use and choosing safer alternatives.
DESIGN
I chose a microlearning format to keep the experience short, focused, and easy to complete. Scenario-based learning was used so learners could practice decision-making in realistic workplace situations rather than only reading policy information.
DEVELOPMENT
Using Articulate Rise 360, I created:
-
AI governance overview
-
Scenario-based decision activities
-
Immediate feedback
-
Final knowledge check
-
Key takeaways
IMPLEMENTATION
Designed for LMS deployment as part of employee onboarding, AI adoption training, or annual technology/compliance training.
EVALUATION
Success could be measured through completion data, scenario accuracy, learner feedback, and reduction in risky AI-use behaviors such as entering sensitive information or sharing unverified AI-generated content.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Scenario-Based Learning: Learners practice making responsible AI decisions in realistic workplace situations.
Microlearning: Content is concise and focused so employees can complete the training quickly.
Performance Support: The flip cards provide a simple reference learners can apply after the course.
Immediate Feedback: Each scenario explains why a choice is effective, risky, or incomplete.

Learning Experience Design Decisions
This project was designed as a scenario-based microlearning experience because responsible AI use depends on judgment, not memorization.
Rather than presenting AI governance as a list of rules, learners are placed in realistic workplace situations where they must evaluate risk and choose an appropriate response. Immediate feedback reinforces safe AI behaviors while helping learners understand why certain actions may create privacy, accuracy, copyright, or decision-making risks.
