THE CHALLENGE
Creative teams often struggle to deliver feedback that is clear, actionable, and supportive. Poorly communicated feedback can create confusion, increase revision cycles, and negatively impact collaboration.
Poor feedback can create confusion, damage collaboration, or discourage creativity. | wanted to create a learning experience that allowed learners to practice responding to realistic creative situations and immediately see the impact or their decisions
The goal wasn't to teach feedback theory. It was to help learners practice effective communication in authentic creative scenarios.
THE SOLUTION
I designed a scenario-based microlearning module that places learners in the role of a creative team member reviewing creative work, design deliverables, and client requests
Through branching decision points, learners evaluate different responses and practice selecting feedback that is:
1
Specific
Constructive
Actionable
Colaborative
1
The lesson presents multiple real-world situations including character design reviews, animation critiques, and client communication challenges.
ANALYSIS
Identified a common challenge among creative learners and professionals: many people can recognize problems in creative work but struggle to articulate feedback in a way that supports improvement.
The learning need was not knowledge acquisition - it was communication practice.
DESIGN
Instead of presenting a list of feedback rules, I chose a scenario-based approach.
The learning experience places participants directly into conversations where they must evaluate options and determine the most effective response.
Scenarios include character design reviews, animation critiques, and client communication challenges.
DEVELOPMENT
Using Articulate Rise 360, I created:
-
Scenario-based interactions
-
Decision-making activities
-
Character-driven conversations
-
Branching response options
-
Immediate feedback opportunities
-
Visual Storytelling elements
The experience was intentionally kept short and focused to support just-in-time learning.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Scenario-Based Learning: Learners practice feedback conversations rather than simply reading about them
Authentic Context: Scenarios replicate common challenges in creative production environments
Decision-Based Learning: Learners evaluate multiple response options and choose the most effective feedback.
Authentic Learning: real-world workflows
and industry practices

Learning Experience Design Decisions
This project was intentionally designed as a scenario-based microlearning experience rather than a traditional content-heavy lesson.
Feedback is a skill that develops through practice, reflection, and decision-making. Rather than presenting a list of feedback rules, learners are placed in realistic workplace situations where they must evaluate response options and determine the most effective course of action.
Branching scenarios and immediate feedback were incorporated to create a safe environment for experimentation. Learners can see the consequences of their choices, reflect on their decision-making process, and apply feedback principles in context.
The experience was intentionally kept short to support just-in-time learning while maintaining engagement. Realistic creative workplace situations were selected to increase relevance, authenticity, and transfer of learning.
